Meet the Speaker | Cheryl Doucette

Cheryl Doucette has over 20 years of nonprofit experience working closely with underserved and at-risk populations. Cheryl’s expertise is in the field of community planning, working closely with grassroots nonprofit agencies with little to no paid staff. Her deep understanding of the nonprofit landscape allows her to guide organizations through transition and capacity development. She helps facilitate collaboration and foster relationships to bridge gaps in the community by bringing all stakeholders together for purposeful collaboration.

Cheryl’s work in community education and outreach with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Delaware Hospice, and the Sussex County Health Coalition, combined with multiple board positions she had held throughout the years, gives her a well-rounded strategic edge when working with organizations wishing to expand their reach.

Cheryl has helped both national and local nonprofits with various projects including initial nonprofit formation, program expansion, accelerated growth strategies, board recruitment, board engagement and sustainability. As the Director of Program Services for Kids’ Chance of America, she supports 50 state organizations, as well as leading the Council of State Organizations.

Cheryl was appointed by Delaware Governor John Carney in 2017 to serve as a Commissioner on the Behavioral Health Consortium to represent both Kent and Sussex Counties. Cheryl is currently serving on the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension’s Advisory Board, volunteers as a PEER Mentor with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and is a member of the Governance Committee for the Fund for Women Foundation in Delaware.
